Privacy Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

Auburn Fan Network collects what it needs to run a fan community and nothing more. We don't sell it, we don't run ads against it, and you can have it deleted by asking.

What we collect

When you join the founding list or contact us

  • Your email address and name, so we can reach you.
  • Your city — optional, and city-level only.
  • Your Auburn connection and graduation year — optional.
  • Whether you offered to help — moderate discussions, or host a watch party.
  • Ideas and partner enquiries — whatever you type into those forms.

When you create an account

  • Your email address and a password. The password is stored as a one-way hash by our sign-in provider; we cannot read it.
  • Your profile — display name, city, Auburn connection, graduation year, the sports and interests you follow, and any gaming platforms or gamertags you choose to add.
  • If you joined through someone's invite link, which member invited you.

What you do on the Network

  • What you post — discussions, replies, messages in Rooms, and your reactions.
  • GameDay activity — your game predictions and where you say you are watching from (stadium, home, a watch party, traveling).
  • Pick'em picks and the record that comes from them.
  • Watch parties you list or RSVP to, and groups you join.
  • Reports you send to moderators.

If you turn on notifications

We store the push address your browser or phone gives us for that device, so we can send the alerts you asked for. Turning alerts off in Settings deletes it.

Location

We never request or store your GPS location. You type a city, and a city is all we keep. The Fan Map is opt-in and shows counts by city, never individual pins — and a city does not appear at all until enough members are there that no single person can be identified from it. If you host a watch party, the street address you enter is shown only to you and to members who RSVP.

What other members can see

  • Your display name, city and Founding Member badge, alongside anything you post, your reactions, and your place on the Pick'em leaderboard.
  • If you RSVP to a watch party, other members can see that you are going. If you host one, your name is shown as the host.
  • If you invited someone, they see your name on the invite. You see the display names of people who joined through your link.
  • Members cannot see your email address, your Auburn connection, your graduation year, or your password.
  • GameDay predictions and check-ins are shown to others only as totals, not as a list of who chose what.

Posts and Rooms messages are visible to other signed-in members. Treat them the way you would treat anything you say in a room full of Auburn fans.

Who else can see it

  • Moderators can see and remove posts and messages, and can mute a member in Rooms. They cannot see your email address.
  • Auburn Fan Network administrators can see account email addresses and the founding list, in order to run the site and contact you about it.

What we do with it

  • Run the Network — show your posts, score Pick'em, list watch parties, light up the Fan Map.
  • Send the notifications you turned on, and account email such as sign-up confirmation and password resets.
  • Email you about Auburn Fan Network itself.
  • Understand where the Auburn Family is, so we know which cities to build for first.
  • Keep the community safe — review reports and enforce the Community Guidelines.

That is the entire list. We do not use your information for anything else.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your information.
  • We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not run advertising or third-party tracking on this site.
  • We do not email you on behalf of anyone else.

Companies that help us run the site

These providers process information on our behalf, only to provide their service:

  • Supabase — our database, sign-in and live chat.
  • Vercel — hosts the website and provides cookieless visit counts.
  • OpenFreeMap — serves the map images on the Fan Map and watch-party maps. Your browser requests those directly, so that service sees your IP address the way any website does.
  • Apple, Google or Mozilla — deliver push notifications to your device if you turn them on.

Headlines and podcasts link out to their publishers. Once you follow a link you are on their site, under their privacy policy.

Where it is stored

On servers in the United States, operated by our hosting and database providers. If you are outside the United States, your information is processed there.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, and — if you arrived through a member's invite link — one that remembers the invite for up to 30 days so they get credit when you join. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

Since September 30, 2026 we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which parts of the site people use. It sets no cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you to other websites. Visits are counted in aggregate (page, referrer, country, device type); we cannot use it to identify you.

Age

You must be 13 or older to join Auburn Fan Network. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, email us and we will remove it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or until Auburn Fan Network shuts down — whichever comes first. When you ask us to delete your account we delete your sign-in and your profile, and remove what you posted or disconnect it from you. Push addresses are deleted as soon as you turn alerts off or your device stops accepting them.

Your choices

  • Edit your profile and Fan Map visibility in Settings at any time.
  • Turn notifications off in Settings.
  • Unsubscribe from any email we send you.
  • Ask what we hold about you and we will tell you.
  • Ask us to delete it and we will, promptly.

Email hello@theauburnnetwork.com. You do not need a reason and it will not cost you anything.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, we will update the date at the top and email members and people on the founding list.
