Community Guidelines

The short version

Talk to people the way you would at a tailgate, in front of someone's family. Argue about the offense all you want. Do not make it personal.

What belongs here

• Auburn football, basketball, baseball, and every other Auburn sport.
• Recruiting, campus life, traditions, and Auburn history.
• Watch parties, meetups, and finding Auburn people in your city.
• Auburn creators, podcasts, writers, and local businesses.
• Trash talk. Genuinely — this is a rivalry sport and we are not humorless about it.

What does not

Attacks on people

• Harassment, threats, or pile-ons — including toward rival fans.
• Slurs or hate directed at race, religion, nationality, gender, orientation, or disability.
• Sexual content, and anything sexualizing a minor under any circumstances.

Athletes are not fair game the way coaches are

Criticize play calls, schemes, effort, and results. Do not target an unpaid college athlete personally, and never contact a recruit or their family on the community's behalf. Recruits are frequently minors. Posts about high school athletes get held to a stricter standard than anything else on this site.

Private information

• No posting anyone's address, phone number, workplace, or family details.
• No sharing someone's location without their permission — including from the Fan Map.
• No screenshots of private messages that identify people.

Junk

• Spam, scams, referral links, and ticket-selling schemes.
• Impersonating Auburn staff, coaches, players, or media.
• Rumor posted as fact. Say "I heard" when you heard it.
• Gambling promotion, betting services, or requests to place bets.

Game days

Game Rooms move fast and emotions are real. During games we may turn on slow mode, tighten it automatically when a room gets loud, and add moderators for rivalry weeks. If a room cannot be moderated properly, we will close it rather than leave it unattended. A dead room is better than an ugly one.

Watch parties

• Every listing is reviewed by a moderator before it appears publicly.
• Public venues strongly preferred. We do not publish residential street addresses.
• Host honestly — if it is 21+, say so. If it is family friendly, say that too.
• Report any listing that looks wrong, and we will pull it while we look.

How moderation works

Every action is recorded, and moderators are members of this community, not outsiders. For most problems the ladder is:

• Warning — you are told what crossed the line.
• Mute — a short time-out from posting.
• Temporary suspension — for repeat or serious issues.
• Permanent removal — for threats, doxxing, hate, sexual content involving minors, or persistent harassment. These skip the ladder entirely.

Reporting

Every post, message and listing has a report option. Reports are private — the person you report is not told who reported them. Reporting something in bad faith, repeatedly, is itself a violation.

If you see a credible threat of harm to someone, contact local law enforcement first, then tell us.

Moderators

Auburn Fan Network is moderated by volunteers from the community. If you want to help, say so when you join the Founding Network. We would rather have enough moderators than open rooms we cannot look after.

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. They will change as the community grows — and founding members will have a say in how.
